EasyOFAC Alternative with Batch Screening and PDF Evidence

OfacScanner is an EasyOFAC alternative for teams that screen in a browser and must prove it later. EasyOFAC is a low cost OFAC API with monitoring from $14 a month. OfacScanner adds CSV batch screening, UN, EU, UK, Canada and Australia lists, a PDF certificate for every check and case review for several users. Try a name in the console below.

Is OfacScanner a good EasyOFAC alternative

It depends on how you screen. EasyOFAC, run by OpenACH, is built API first. Its pricing page sells API searches and monitored customers, starting with a free tier of 100 searches that is rate limited to one lookup per second, then Basic at $14, Grow at $49 and Pro at $129 a month. If a developer wires sanctions checks into your onboarding flow and the volume is small, that is hard to beat on price, and we say so below.

OfacScanner is built for the person who opens a screen, types or uploads names, reviews the possible matches and has to hand an auditor, bank partner or customer a record of every decision. That workflow needs things EasyOFAC does not list on its pricing or home page: CSV upload of a whole customer or vendor file, lists from outside the U.S., a dated PDF per check and a case queue where a second person can approve a cleared match.

Both products score names against official OFAC data with fuzzy matching. The difference is the work around the score.

Developer connecting a screening API to an onboarding flow

When EasyOFAC is the better choice

Pick EasyOFAC if your screening lives in code and the volume is low. A small lender or payments startup that sends a few hundred names a month through an API and only needs OFAC will pay $14 to $49 there. Our API starts on Scale, which is far more than that team needs.

EasyOFAC is also the cheaper way to keep a small book of customers under watch. Grow monitors 1,000 names for $49 a month. On OfacScanner, monitoring starts on Growth. If that describes you, use EasyOFAC, and come back when the requirements below show up.

Why teams switch from EasyOFAC to OfacScanner

These are the requests that usually push a team past an API only tool.

A whole file to screen today

An acquirer, auditor or new bank partner wants the full customer or vendor list screened. Batch sanctions screening takes the CSV as it is and rates every row in one pass.

Counterparties outside the U.S.

Exporters, marketplaces and fintechs with EU or UK partners are asked to screen those lists too. Growth adds UN, EU, UK, Canada and Australia to OFAC.

Proof for each decision

A monthly email summary does not show which list version a single customer was checked against. Each OfacScanner check saves a PDF with the version date and the reason for the score.

Rescreening on every update

OFAC changes its lists several times a month. Ongoing sanctions monitoring rescreens every saved record after each update and alerts only when something changes.

More than one reviewer

Compliance teams want a maker and a checker. Cases record who cleared a match, who approved it and why.

Hard names

Transliterated Cyrillic, Arabic, Persian and Chinese names and legal suffixes such as LLC, GmbH or OOO are handled before scoring, which cuts noise on foreign names.

How to switch from EasyOFAC in one afternoon

You do not need a migration project. Your monitored names are your customer list, and you already have it.

  1. 01

Export your customer or vendor list

Pull names, countries and your own IDs from your CRM, core system, QuickBooks or ERP as a CSV.

  2. 02

    Upload and map columns

Map name, country and ID once. Growth accepts up to 100,000 rows per file and screens them against every list on your plan.

  3. 03

    Work the first review queue

Most rows come back Clear. Each Review or Likely result opens a case with the listed entry, the matched alias and the score breakdown.

  4. 04

    Turn on monitoring

Saved records are rescreened after each list update. Keep EasyOFAC running until the first full pass is done, then cancel it.

Questions to ask before you choose either tool

  • Which lists does the plan screen, by name, and how fast are updates picked up

  • Can you upload a full file today, and how many rows per file

  • What record is kept for one check, and can you download it as a PDF

  • How many users get their own login, and can a second person approve a match

  • Does monitoring rescreen after every list update or on a fixed schedule

  • What does the plan cost once you add the volume you expect next year

Screening informs the decision, it does not make it

Neither tool decides whether a customer is sanctioned. Both score how close a name is to a listed entry. Confirm a likely match against the official Treasury Sanctions List Search and involve your compliance lead or counsel before you block or report anything.

How much does EasyOFAC cost?

EasyOFAC lists a free tier with 100 API searches and 100 monitored names, rate limited to one lookup per second, then Basic at $14 a month, Grow at $49 and Pro at $129, plus custom pricing above 5,000 searches a month. Extra searches cost $0.01 to $0.12 each depending on the plan.

Is EasyOFAC cheaper than OfacScanner?

Yes, for low volume API screening and small monitored lists, EasyOFAC is cheaper. OfacScanner Starter costs $24 a month billed yearly for 1,000 checks with a PDF for each, and monitoring, batch files and extra lists start on Growth at $249 a month billed yearly.

Does EasyOFAC screen UN, EU or UK sanctions lists?

EasyOFAC does not name its lists on its public pages beyond OFAC. If you must screen UN, EU, UK, Canadian or Australian lists, ask the vendor directly. OfacScanner Growth screens all of them alongside OFAC SDN and Consolidated.

Can I upload a spreadsheet to screen many names at once?

On OfacScanner, yes. Growth takes CSV files of up to 100,000 rows and returns a rating per row, with cases opened for possible matches. EasyOFAC does not mention batch upload on its site.

Is there an OFAC API alternative to EasyOFAC?

Yes. The OfacScanner sanctions screening API is on Scale and answers in under 300 ms with webhooks for new matches. It suits payment and platform teams with high volume. For a few hundred API calls a month, EasyOFAC costs less.

Can I try OfacScanner before switching?

Yes. Run a screening in the console on this page without an account. After signup you get 10 demo checks in total, then you pick a plan.
